This group “Mafithakgosi traditional dance group” comes from Gaborone, capital of Botswana. It brings African vitality and youth to the public! Located in the heart of the southern African continent, Botswana is known for its stable economy and cultural diversity. To showcase Botswana’s traditional dance, the young people will perform different folk dances, including Setapa, Selete and Tsutsube, which are very popular in different parts of the country. Some are made for special occasions such as presidential induction, weddings and holidays, and others are intended for healing ceremonies or harvest festivals. The majority, however, retain the authentic taste of folk dances. Thanks to government support, Botswana’s traditional culture and arts are well protected and developed, including national dances that are highly popular in many countries.
